A shepherd for your nativity scene, round and cheerful in shape. Pastorello belongs with the sheep and watches over the flock, so place him at the edge of the scene, where the animals graze. Loose on a windowsill or among pine branches on the table, he's also a small Christmas figure with character.
Happy Eternity Baby is Alessi's nativity scene, designed by Italian artists Massimo Giacon and Marcello Jori. They gave the classic figures a playful, contemporary form, with round lines and bright colours, and lots of humour. Each figure is porcelain and hand-painted.
You build the nativity scene step by step: start with the Holy Family and add one or two figures each year. The shepherd looks lovely next to the black sheep Nerona and the other animals in the range. Store the figures carefully wrapped after the holidays and the painting stays beautiful.
