A small, handy knife for vegetables, fruit, cheese or a piece of sausage at aperitif time. It feels light in the hand and is sharp enough to slice tomatoes and apples neatly.
The knife is made by Pallarès, a family business from Solsona in Catalonia that has been forging knives for more than a hundred years. The blade is stainless steel and finished by hand. The handle is boxwood, a light, fine-grained wood that feels smooth and darkens beautifully over time.
Wash the knife by hand and dry it straight away, so the blade stays sharp and the wood stays beautiful. A drop of oil on the handle now and then keeps the wood supple. A lovely gift for anyone who likes to cook, or alongside the olive wood version from the same range.
