A corkscrew shaped like a little man in a yellow and black checked suit, opening every bottle of wine with a smile. Twist the spiral into the cork, the arms rise, and with a single downward movement you pull the cork out. On the table it is an instant conversation piece.
The corkscrew is made of AlkiPaper, a paper-based biocomposite, and zamak, a sturdy metal alloy. The ergonomic shape sits comfortably in the hand. The striking graphic pattern gives the object an almost hypnotic effect. Wipe it clean with a dry cloth.
Alessandro Mendini designed this corkscrew for Alessi as an ironic self-portrait. It reflects the playful yet refined style of the Italian designer. A design icon that brings humour and ease of use together, and an original gift for anyone who loves wine and design.
